IMAN KERROUA

ASSOCIATE TEACHING ARTIST

Originally from Paris, Iman Kerroua is an actress and writer. After obtaining a Master’s degree in Dramatic Arts from the prestigious East 15 Acting School (University of Essex) in London, she performed on the stage of the renowned Shakespeare’s Globe, under the direction of Jacqui Somerville, in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She also acted in adaptations of A Mouthful of Birds by Caryl Churchill and Widows by Ariel Dorfman.

Upon returning to Paris, she collaborated with Hakim Djaziri on the play Audrey. Passionate and committed, she founded the theater company Mama Luna, where she created her first production, Medusa. This work revisits Ovid’s myth with a modern and feminist approach, giving Medusa a voice once more.

Iman wrote and performed her first solo show, London Bridge, a poignant play that explores the impact of domestic violence on children. This project is accompanied by cultural initiatives aimed at vulnerable audiences, blending art with social activism.

As a volunteer with the association Marici in Pantin, which fights against violence towards women and young girls, Iman leads women’s circles at the Maison des Femmes de Pantin, providing a space for expression and support. She also participates in awareness campaigns for diverse audiences, including schools, youth centers, and community centers. In collaboration with women supported by Marici, she directed the play Waiting for Tomorrow, a powerful tribute to matriarchal transmission.

Committed to inclusion, Iman works with the association Souffleurs de Sens, which strives to make culture accessible to people with disabilities and those in extreme poverty. Ten years ago, Iman discovered the work of Yorgos and the Lab methodology. This encounter, which aligned with her values, allowed her to reconnect with her body and embrace its immense creative power.
