Existential Loneliness

My Deep Blue Sea

by Yorgos Karamalegos

‘At the back of the bus,

The city bus resembles national coaches.

Your music lingers in my mind.

The road becomes the motorway,

The motorway becomes the sky,

And I am flying.

I am flying with you.

I am flying with you, and I haven't ever met you.

The regular stops of the bus bring me back to reality,

Landing me back on the ground.

And very soon, the journey starts all over again.

The road becomes the motorway,

The motorway becomes the sky,

And I am flying.

I am flying with you,

I am kissing you, holding you.

I am inside you,

We stand in the centre of the fire,

And there is no shrinking back.

Together.

Who are you?

Where are you?

Will I ever meet you?

To Be

To Be With You.

For Nothing.

For Everything.’
